WHEN CARS COLLIDE: J. STANNARD BAKER AND THE SCIENCE OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION
J. Stannard Baker, the Sherlock Holmes of collision investigation retired last spring, but the principles he developed continue to guide those who must understand what really happened before, during, and after a collision. This article recounts Baker's career and the development of his accident reconstruction techniques, which he assembled in a book entitled "Traffic Accident Investigation Manual".
