STUDY OF SINGLE VEHICLE RURAL ACCIDENTS: FREQUENCY TABLES

This report presents data collected as part of a study of single vehicle accidents carried out in eastern Victoria in 1987 and 1988. The data describe accident sites and accident involved drivers and vehicles and are presented in the form of frequency tables and crosstabulations. The frequency tables are divided into a number of sections. These are: general factors; accident details; pavement cross section; delineation; surface condition; geometric details; roadside recovery area; roadside objects; vehicle factors; and driver factors. The crosstabulations are given in two sections; those involving site variables and those involving driver variables. This report is only aimed at making all data collected available and does not attempt to interpret the data. A full description of the study and data analysis is presented in a separate report (see IRRD 814738). (TRRL)
