PITTSBURGH SETS NEW STANDARDS FOR STREET NAME SIGN PROGRAMS
A project to replace street name signs was recently completed by the city of Pittsburgh. The program included the following special considerations: use of capital improvement funds rather than maintenance budget monies; a complete city-wide sign inventory; neighborhood designations on signs; 24-in.-deep blades; high intensity reflective sheeting; and a schedule to resign the entire city in less than a year. Details of the project are presented in this article.
