A MICROCOMPUTER-BASED ON-LINE TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM
TRUSTS (Trafffic Responsive and Uniform Surveillance Timing System), a new urban, on-line system dedicated to continuous real-time traffic control under the supervision of qualified traffic control personnel is described. The details of the system are given. TRUSTS is a low-cost, high-capacity, personal computer system providing a practical alternative to the use of the master computer. An important feature is its dissplay of traffic flow data. The construction and test period does not exceed 6 months. Before and after evaluations have verified the efficiency and effectiveness of TRUSTS.
