MIDAS FY 1991 REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN
The Transit Development Plan (TDP) provides for the coordination and development of public and private transportation services. The TDP evaluates services available, assesses transportation need and recommends policy and system improvements. Policy makers benefit through the formulation of developmental alternatives by having access to statistics showing progress of respective transit systems over a period of time. Also, policy officials benefit through greater coordination of transit programs nad an overall reduction in funds allocated for transit services. The TDP planning process projects five-year needs and development directions for each subsystem operating under the MIDAS umbrella. The end result of the planning process is a greater understanding of transportation planning and a more efficient implementation program.
