BICYCLE SAFETY IN THE '80S. THE AAA GUIDE TO SKILLS TESTS AND BICYCLE RIDERS
It is noted that there is more information today about traffic accidents, and about how bikes and cars share the road. The bicycle is considered a vehicle and bicycle riders are considered drivers of vehicles. Accident facts relating to bicycles are listed. It is noted that it is best to start teaching children at an early age. It is noted that college-age adult cyclists have an accident rate nearly as high as that of elementary school children, and ten times that of adult club cyclists. There is a need to teach good habits to children, and success in this effort will be measured in terms of reduced accidents.
