INTERNATIONAL ORIENTATION ON TRAFFIC SAFETY: NECESSARY AND POSSIBLE
INTERNATIONAL ORIENTATIE OP VERKEERSVEILIGHEID: NOODZAKELIJK EN MOGELIJK
Knowledge about developments in traffic safety and knowledge of planning and policy in traffic safety in other countries can be important. The theory can be supported by many real examples. The report discusses the methods by which the information can be systematically and effectively collected. First a literature review is made to get the most relevant information. From such a review mostly written information can be obtained. Study visits, workshops, conferences etc can be used to collect verbal information. An informal network of experts should be formed as well. Each participant of the network should make a state of the art report each year, as a basis for an exchange agreement. Thereafter research projects in an international setting could be carried out.
