LICENCE RE-TESTING OF OLDER DRIVERS
Background is provided regarding re-testing requirements of older drivers in Australia, as well as a consideration of the costs involved in establishing a re-testing program for drivers aged 75 and over. The study concluded that, given the experience in other states, the substantial costs of a re-testing system are unlikely to be offset by significant benefits in terms of accident reduction.
