DEVELOPMENT OF A LONG LIFE CAR SR TIRE INCLUDING RETREADING

Against the background of the target of energy and raw material saving, in the context of the documented project one tried to develop a car tire which can be retreaded several times. For the first retreading, a distinct improvement compared with the previous retreading standard, was achieved by design and material technique measures in strength at high speeds and in the service life. The high speed performance corresponds to the new tire level. In spite of extensive design and material technique measures, th retreaded tires cannot reach the high standard of new tires in all properties (e.g. uniformity of tire, driving properties). Several retreading operations are no longer regarded as being sensible.
