ADHERENCE OF ROADWAYS AND ANTI-SKID QUALITIES OF TIRES
A new stradograph was designed so that the sliding rate of wheels can be varied between 0 and 100%. A detailed description is given: vertical suspension and loading, recording, measurement units, determination of the transverse force and longitudinal force, sprinkling device, measurement wheel. Then a description is given of the operations carried out during a test, depending on the type of friction one wishes to investigate. This apparatus can measure a large number of useful parameters, both for tire construction engineers and for roadway builders.
