The report discusses the growth of the vehicle population and traffic in Finland up to the year 2010. The forecast is called the pala 86-2010 forecast and is based on the forecast of several background factors prepared among others by the centre of economic planning, central office of statistics, national pensions institute and the central association of regional planning. According to the forecast the automobile stock of Finland will grow rapidly during the 1980's. After that the growth will slow down. The forecasted growth of traffic in whole country during 1986-2010 is 43%. In southern Finland traffic grows clearly more than elsewhere in Finland. (TRRL)
