STATISTICAL TRENDS IN TRANSPORT 1965-1986

As in previous years (see IRRD 813155), this publication sets out the main statistical data concerning the transport sector in the 19 European member countries of the ecmt (European conference of ministers of transport). The tables in this edition contain the following additional data when compared with earlier tables. Section 1 of the statistical tables now contains data on the value added and gross fixed capital formation in the transport sector, and on employment. A number of new tables have been introduced to throw more light on international flows of traffic between ecmt member countries. These relate to: a) international passenger traffic by rail; b) goods unloaded following international transport by rail and by road, and also goods in international transit between two rail networks; and C) origin destination tables for international transport by inland waterways. Table 6 on railway rolling stock has been modified to show the number of private wagons used by railways. (TRRL)
