The mount Lebanon tunnel is a twin-tube rail transit tunnel South of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The tunnel has a unique ventilation system, utilising impulse fans in portal ventilation buildings. This ventilation concept is a first, developed with the subway environment simulation (ses) computer programme. The design was done in 1982 and the tunnel was opened in 1987.(a)
