RECENT EVOLUTION IN ISO STANDARDIZATION FOR MECHANICAL TESTING OF GEOTEXTILES ---PROCEEDINGS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON THEORY AND PRACTICE OF EARTH REINFORCEMENT, FUKUOKA, KYUSHU, JAPAN, 5-7 OCTOBER 1988
Nowadays geotextiles are universally used. National committees try to standardize tests on the basis of local experiences. The international nature of the market for geotextiles means that it is essential to standardize test procedures. In 1985, iso (international standard organization) decided to create a sub-committee for the standardization of test procedures on geotextiles: iso tc 38/sc 21. Working group 3 has responsibility for the study of the mechanical test procedures on geotextiles. The purpose of this paper is to present the recent activity of this working group. For the covering abstract of the symposium see IRRD 818063.
