This paper discusses the concepts behind the use of a standard systems approach for the design of computerised systems to aid in the management of maintenance work as applied to roads maintenance. The maintenance management system (mms), which is in use at all international and domestic airports in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is described in outline and the practical application of this control system is presented.
