DETERMINATION OF A STRATEGY FOR DYNAMIC CONTROL OF MAINTENANCE PROCESSES FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE COMPONENTS ---XXI FISITA CONGRESS, BELGRADE, 2-6 JUNE, 1986, PROCEEDINGS, VOLUME 2

The paper presents a practical application of a new method for the condition-based maintenance of engineering systems and of an associated computer program, which have been recently developed by one of the authors (knezevic,j). The work described relates to the maintenance of a fleet of electric delivery vehicles in which contractors are critical elements for reliability. Tests were carried out on the everyday use of the vehicles to establish the actual normal usage of the contractors and provide the basis for formulating the experimental programme. Following from this an optimum strategy for dynamic control of maintenance is determined in order to provide a required level of reliability whilst reducing costs as a result of prolonging the reliable operating life of the components.
