FORMATION, SOLUTION AND APPLICATION OF A NONLINEAR MILES-PHILLIPS SPECTRAL COMPONENT GROWTH MODEL
A wave component growth model is proposed that combines commonly accepted theories. The form of the model is a second order nonlinear differential equation in time. Solution indicates that the overshoot effect has been described. The model link this effect to the wave breaking process and the subsequent damping toward equilibrium to the nonlinear wave-wave scattering process. (Author)
