EDUCATING THE EDUCATORS ON INFRASTRUCTURE
A cooperative program of the Arkansas Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), Arkansas State University, the Arkansas Department of Education, and the State Council on Economic Education sponsored one-day seminars entitled "Transportation and Infrastructure: A Key to Economic Development" for high school teachers in Arkansas. Comments by participants clearly indicate that this program to educate the educators was badly needed in Arkansas--and in all likelihood every other state. The seminars, which conclude in November, are providing intensive instruction with a combination of lectures and workbook exercises. Teachers completing the course receive certificates; those scoring highest on exercises also receive mementos such as scale models of construction equipment.
