CATEGORY III INSTRUMENT LANDING SYSTEM
Three Category 3 ILS systems (designated FAA Mark 3 ILS) featuring wide aperture parabolic localizer antennae were developed, fabricated, and delivered for installation at: Atlanta, GA.; NAFEC, Atlantic City, N.J., and San Francisco, CA. A presentation of significant system requirements is followed by a general description of system design. Results of design studies, testing, installation, and field evaluation are furnished with a description of problems encountered and corrective action taken. In conclusion, the system is recommended as suitable for Cat 3 ILS operation.
