CANADA'S $1 BILLION PLAN TO COMBAT CONGESTION
Although Canada counts 26 million inhabitants, it provides air traffic services covering an area of more than 18 million sq km which includes a 3 million sq km area of the North Atlantic's busiest intercontinental air routes. Canada's ambitious $1 billion plan to combat congestion includes the implementation of the radar modernization programme (RAMP), microwave landing systems (MLS) and the new Canadian automated air traffic system (CAATS).
