SENSITIVE STRATA IN BOOTLEGGER COVE FORMATION
This is an effort to clarify the geology of the Bootlegger Cove Formation, and an effort to understand the mitigation of earthquake hazards in the Anchorage area. The paper summarizes and extends the interpretation of recent subsurface data acquired during the last decade. The interpretation of sensitivity in this paper is based on the remolded strength as an index of sensitivity and a calibration of this index with conventional sensitivity values. This allows information about sensitivity to be obtained on cores without the disturbance errors associated with conventional sensitivity determinations.
