GENERAL AVIATION COLLISION-AVOIDANCE ALTERNATIVES
The literature is reviewed as it applies to the midair collision problem within general aviation, the largest single user of U.S. airspace. Midair collisions data base (statistically significant) is summarized. The current state of the art in collision avaidance technology is reviewed, and development of a future stand-alone general aviation collision avoidance system is advocated.
