ACTUAL USES OF THE CARS: THE EXPERIMENTAL STUDY EUREV
UTILISATIONS REELLES DES VEHICULES: L'ETUDE EXPERIMENTALE EUREV
Thirty-five passengers cars have been studied by means of on-board data acquisition systems. The methods used are described and some aspects of actual car use by their drivers, recorded in time intervals in seconds over a total 23,000 km are analyzed. The following data were studied: vehicle daily use rates; durations; distances travelled; travel characteristics, and differences according to the studied areas; speeds, fuel consumption, use of manual choke, lighting, wipers and gear changes.
