TUNNEL LINK STILL INTERESTS THE CITY
Making its proposed high speed line from London to the Channel Tunnel environmentally acceptable is costing British Rail (BR) dearly. BR has had to addressed the concerns of outraged citizens fearing that noise levels would be unacceptable, that property values would not meet fair market levels, and that the probability of train accidents would be a clear and present danger. Despite all of this, private groups say they still intend to submit firm proposals for providing finance as planned.
