ROAD TRANSPORTATION IN AFRICA
This article examines road transportation service facilities and equipment in sub-Saharan Africa. It provides a statistical survey of road transportation, and discusses causal relationships and implications of road conditions in several African countries. Comparisons are made to developed countries, particularly the United States, when appropriate. The study uses mostly 1982-83 data because more recent data could not be obtained.
