ROTATION OF PRINCIPAL DIRECTIONS IN K SUB O-CONSOLIDATED CLAY. DISCUSSION
This is a discussion of a paper of this title by P-Y Hicher and P.V. Lade published in vol. 113, No. 7(1987) issue of this Journal. It is the discusser's opinion that a certain statement in this paper is contradictory and misleading, namely, "In monotonic tests, the strength and pore pressure developments occurred much faster .... in tests without stress rotation than in tests with stress rotation." The discusser proceeds to show why this is mileading. This discussion is followed by a reply and closure by the authors, Hicher and Lade.
