PLANNING PAVEMENT REHABILITATION : THE CITY OF SASKATOON ---1987 ANNUAL CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS: ROADS AND TRANSPORTATION ASSOCIATION OF CANADA, SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN, CANADA

In order to develop a more objective and consistent system of pavement condition evaluation, the city of Saskatoon has acquired a laser road surface tester (rst) to be used in conjunction with a dynaflect tester. The rst uses eleven specifically designed lasers to measure roughness, ride quality, cracking and texture to an accuracy of plus or minus 0.2 mm. The surface condition data are then combined with base and subbase condition data as obtained from dynaflect readings. Microcomputer software is used to analyze the data and develop optimum rehabilitation strategies. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 807058.
