IMPROVED PERFORMANCE OF SMALL SIGN SUPPORTS. FINAL REPORT
The project was conducted to evaluate the effects of impacts with small sign supports on 1800 lb class vehicles and to select a vehicle design and develop a test methodology for future evaluation of small sign support designs. A series of impact tests was conducted to acquire vehicle and occupant response data; impacts into present small sign support designs and into an instrumented rigid pole were included. The report includes the following separately bound volumes: Volume I - Body of the report; Volume II - Vehicle selection data; Volume III - Inertia measurement data and suspension system data; Volumes IV through XV - Full scale impact test reports.
