Details are given of changes in traffic and of road investments during the last 10 years. Tables give data on the costs of transport to the government, cost of the infrastructure and road expenses, taxes imposed on fuel, the increase in economic activity in the whole country, development in the automobile industry, manufacture, export, import, vehicle ownership in France and other European countries, number of vehicles per 100 inhabitants, yearly average mileage for one private car,freight transport, accidents, and European motorway network. Comments are made on the state of the 5th plan and shortcomings of the 6th plan. /TRRL/
