TRAFFIC DATA COLLECTION; AN APPLICATION OF THE COMPUTER TO TRAFFIC ENGINEERING
VERKEERSDATAVERZAMELING; EEN COMPUTERTOEPASSING IN DE VERKEERSKUNDE
It is desirable to collect data on traffic flows for the benefit of research on the development of traffic flows. The laboratory for traffic engineering of the Delft University of Technology has the apparatus to carry out traffic measurements. With the aid of road detectors the points of time of passing of vehicle axles are recorded on a magnetic tape by this apparatus. A software system which produces vehicle trajectories from these detector measurements is described. /TRRL/
