USER'S GUIDE TO MOBILE4 (MOBILE SOURCE EMISSION FACTOR MODEL)
The document is the User's Guide to MOBILE4. MOBILE4 is a computer program that calculates emission factors for hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) from gasoline-fueled and diesel highway motor vehicles. The program uses the calculation procedures and emission factors presented in Compilation of Air Pollutant Emission Factors: Highway Mobile Sources (AP-42 Fourth Edition, September 1985). MOBILE4 calculates emission factors for eight individual vehicle types in two regions of the country. MOBILE4 emission estimates depend on various conditions such as ambient temperature, speed, and mileage accrual rates. MOBILE4 supercedes MOBILE3.
