TRAFFIC SIGNALS - LEFT-TURN PHASING, TIMING AND DISPLAYS, VEHICLE CLEARANCE INTERVALS : RECOMMENDED PRACTICE
This report provides the results of an evaluation of responses to a series of questionnaires and meetings with practicing engineers across Canada with respect to the timing and phasing of traffic signals, including vehicle clearance intervals, as well as the signal head displays that are associated with the various left-turn phasing alternatives. The report provides recommendations to assist the Canadian council on uniform traffic control devices in the development of uniform standards for the application of practices and devices in the foregoing aspects of the use of traffic signals.
