RAILROAD ANTIMONOPOLY ACT. HEARINGS BEFORE THE SUBCOMMITTEE ON MONOPOLIES AND COMMERCIAL LAW, COMMITTEE ON THE JUDICIARY, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, 99TH CONTRESS, 1ST SESSION, JUNE 27, JULY 25, AND OCTOBER 10, 1985
These hearings examined H.R. 1140, the Railroad Antimonopoly Act. This bill clarified section 2 of the Sherman Act by making it unlawful for a rail carrier--with the intent to monopolize--to deny a shipper the use of tracks affording sole access to the destination of the shipment or to the tracks of a competing railroad. The hearings contain the text of H.R. 1140, testimony, prepared statements, and additional material submitted for the record.
