FINE AGGREGATE SHAPE AND SURFACE TEXTURE. FINAL REPORT
Aggregate shape and surface texture of fine aggregate for three different aggregate sources and four levels of degree of crushing were studied by seven different test procedures. Asphalt concrete mixtures using these aggregates were tested for deformation under load by five different tests. Efforts were made to correlate the fine aggregate test measurements to the asphalt concrete deformation properties. The results from three of the fine aggregate tests were correlated with Hveem stability for the best relationships that were developed.
