REVIEW OF FULL DEPTH ASPHALT PAVEMENTS IN AUSTRALIA ---EXPO ON ASPHALT; 7TH AAPA INTERNATIONAL ASPHALT CONFERENCE, BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, 7-11 AUGUST 1988.

This paper presents the results of a study of a number of full depth or deep strength asphalt pavements constructed in Melbourne and Sydney between 1970 and 1981. The study aimed to evaluate the performance of the pavements based on a visual rating and a structural evaluation. The performance of the pavements thus determined is compared with the performance predictions determined using the naasra guide to the structural design of pavements. The measured properties of the asphalt layers are compared with the values determined using the procedures in the naasra guide (a).
