CHARACTERIZATION AND FIELD TESTING OF RECYCLING AGENTS --PROCEEDINGS OF THE FOURTH CONFERENCE ON ASPHALT PAVEMENTS FOR SOUTHERN AFRICA, HELD CAPE SUN HOTEL, CAPE TOWN, REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA, 12-16 MARCH 1984. VOL 1 & VOL 2.

This paper deals with the development of a range of recycling agents in France which can be used for in-situ and off-site recycling. The chemical and physical characteristics of these agents were initially developed in a laboratory study with aged asphaltic concrete. This research work indicated the ability of these agents to rejuvenate the old bituminous concrete. Full scale field tests were carried out in conjunction with a French government road authority. The findings were that the actual field test results were in agreement with the laboratory results. Conclusions were that these agents can be successfully used in recycling of old asphaltic concrete in both on-site and off-site recycling plants.(a) for the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 815702.
