STRUCTURAL RESPONSE OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS REPAIRED WITH NEW MATERIALS --PROCEEDINGS OF THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON DETERIORATION AND REPAIR OF REINFORCED CONCRETE IN THE ARABIAN GULF, BAHRAIN, OCTOBER 11-13, 1987. VOLS 1 AND 2

This paper presents detailed information on the structural response of repaired reinforced concrete beams damaged by concrete deterioration and corroded reinforcement. A technique of structural repair using new materials which impart crack control, ductility, impact resistance and inherent corrosion protection is described. The polymer geogrids and epoxy coated steel bars used are shown to be ideal repair materials for structurally damaged concrete structures. The data reported in the paper show excellent serviceability and ultimate load behaviour of the repaired beams, with good crack control, ductility and composite action preserving the integrity of the structural member at all stages of loading.(a) for the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 813594.
