ACTIVE MARKETING PROGRAMS ATTRACT TRANSIT RIDERS IN SARNIA, ONTARIO
Sarnia Transit's aggressive promotion efforts to maintain ridership, reverse declining ridership and win new riders is detailed. The efforts include active participation of all employees, input from users and other citizens, marketing efforts to determine the needs of riders and potential riders, establishing a customer orientation and goodwill program, fare incentives, elementary school programs educating young children about transit, paid advertisements, as well as services for elderly and disabled riders unable to use regular bus service.
