MODIFIED BROMHEAD RING SHEAR APPARATUS

The Bromhead ring shear apparatus has been modified by addition of vanes to the loading surfaces. This has enaabled tests to be carried out on Lias clay, which otherwise caused problems. In the opinion of the authors, this modification makes the Bromhead apparatus more versatile.
