REGIONAL PATTERNS OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN THE U.S., 1967
Spatial patterns of direct energy consumption in the U.S. in 1967 are given. The energy forms examined are coal, crude oil, refined petroleum products (distillates and residuals), electricity, and natural gas. The physical units are converted to Btu's, with regional values where available. Results include three major end products: (1) Direct energy consumption of distillate and residual fuel oils by two-digit manufacturing SIC's in 51 regions; (2) Direct energy consumption of each of the five energy forms by 98 sectors in 51 regions; (3) Overview of data quality--recommendations for improvements in data base and suggestions for future analytical research.
