THE TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF AN UNDERPASS IN A REGION OF HIGH GROUNDWATER LEVEL IN HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION
The paper presents a general description of an underpass of simplified type suitable for use in high groundwater level region. The economic features of different parts of the structure and the comprehensive economic and social benefits from the whole structure are analyzed. Technical measures for improving the underpass construction are also discussed. To build an underpass of such simplified type for highways in flatland where the underground water level is high, the height of embankment can be reduced, thus less land is required and total construction cost can be cut down.
