STRUCTURE-BORNE SOUND IN BUILDINGS UNDER ELEVATED ROADS ---INTERNOISE 84. INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION FOR NOISE CONTROL. PROCEEDINGS 1984 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NOISE CONTROL ENGINEERING, HONOLULU, HAWAII, 3-5 DECEMBER 1984, VOLUMES 1 AND 2.
Measurements of structure-borne sound were made in a 4 storey reinforced concrete building. The position and detail of the measuring points on the road and in the building are described. The results indicate that if a condition under nc-30 is required, every floor in the building except the top three floors is usable as a living room. Improvement in the joints of road slabs etc make it possible for all except the top floor to be suitable for living. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 816933.
