CAN AFRICA CHANGE ITS WAYS?

At the 7th International Civil Airports Association (ICAA) African regional conference a number of concerns regarding the role of african nations or lack thereof in air transportation were voiced. They included the use of noisy aircraft such as DC-8 and B707 which are non-noise certificated, virtually obsolete equipment, technology from developed countries and facilities design which are not suitable to local conditions. Various spokesmen presented some suggestions for addressing these problems in an economical and more beneficial manner for all concerned.
