ANALYTICAL STUDY ON DEFORMATION OF FRESH CONCRETE

This is an investigation of a simulation method of the behavior of fresh concrete as it is flowing. A method of viscoplastic finite element (FEM) analysis is proposed and some analytical results are shown. The deformation of fresh concrete in slump and flow tests is obtained theoretically, and the relationship between the behavior of fresh concrete in these tests and the rheological constants is clarified. The adequacy of the analytical method is examined by comparison with experimental results. In the analytical method, the constitutive law and yield function are simple, and three dimensional problems are easily analyzed. These and other characteristics of the analytical model are discussed.
