USDA FOREST SERVICE INITIATES SCENIC BYWAY PROGRAM

The initiation of a Scenic Byways Program has been announced which will offer motorists some of the most spectacular scenery in the U.S. The Scenic Byway designation will be determined by a process of nominations which will be required to meet specific criteria. Both public and private agencies will have opportunities to contribute to the development efforts of this Program. The Program will complement existing plans for management of the National Forests.
