AN ANALYTICAL DESIGN METHOD FOR CONCRETE ROADS
This paper presents an analytical design method for concrete roads and roads with a cement-bound roadbase under a bituminous surfacing. The design criterion is flexural fatigue with the critical stresses determined using a modification to westergaard's analysis. The method incorporates a layer transformation for the bituminous surfacing and a means of enhancing the subgrade modulus when a sub-base is present. Individual axle loads are considered in the design.(a) for the covering record of the workshop, see IRRD no 811610.
