NEW ROAD DESIGN STANDARDS OF THE SOVIET UNION

New road design standard took effect in the Soviet union as from January 1, 1988. The new standards have been compiled under the supervision of sojuzdornii institut but also many other institutes and scientists have contributed. The article describes some of the most important standards of public roads and the changes which have been made.
