SOUND SOURCE FOR SCALE MODEL MEASUREMENTS OF TRAFFIC NOISE
This paper deals with the problem of the principles and design of sound source for scale model prediction techniques of road traffic noise levels. The possible physical conceptions of noise field modeling are discussed; and the main required radiation characteristics of scale model source are given. In the research institute of sound and picture, Prague, the pneumatic point sources based on the principle of air jets leading into central cavity were chosen. The design of all the important parts of source from the point of view of frequency response and radiation characteristics in vertical and horizontal planes is described. The sources were designed for the scale 1/50. (a)
