$8.9 MILLION IS OKAYED FOR LOCAL AIRPORT WORK
The Michigan Aeronautics Commission has approved allocations totaling $8,956,588 in federal, state and local funds for airport development projects in fourteen counties. Some projects have federal, state and local participation, while others have state and local only. Federal and state dollars for airport development are from restricted, user-generated funds, with revenues coming primarily from aviation fuels and passenger taxes, and also aircraft registration fees. The approved projects are listed, along with a brief description of each and the amount allocated.
