IOWA SEEKS TO EMPLOY A TRANSPORTATION SAFETY "CIRCUIT RIDER"
Iowa State University's Transportation Information Center has plans to begin a new statewide safety program which will make use of a "circuit rider" who will be an engineer experienced in transportation safety. The circuit rider's main objective will be to present training programs to maintenance workers, operators, and others who maintain and build Iowa's local road system. He will provide local agencies with necessary information and advice and generate a peer-to-peer transfer of safety information between them.
